Friends of Chosewood Park invites community members and artists to help create a small-scale
mural representing the values and strengths of the Chosewood Park neighborhood. Artists will
be selected by FoCP executive members and finalists will be presented to the community and
voted on by residents of the neighborhood. The mural will be displayed on the west facing
outer tennis court wall for park visitors to enjoy. The artist selected will be paid per square foot
(mural budget $1500-2500) and mural could lead to future neighborhood installations.
Submissions are open and can be submitted by individuals or groups, however, preference will
be given to Chosewood Park residents. Please note that while submitters do not need to be a
professional practicing artist, they should have a portfolio of previous completed designs or art
to send in the city art application.
Submission period is October 7, 2022 to December 31, 2022
Artists may submit artwork and artist statement to Friends of Chosewood Park at any time
during the open submission period. Submitting your artwork and information does not
guarantee consideration for a final commission.
Timeline of installation and length of time of display are subject to the discretion of Friends of
Chosewood Park and the Office of Cultural Affairs Public Art Program Manager.
Artists whose submissions are chosen for display will be contacted by Friends of Chosewood
Park. At that time, directions will be supplied for any additional preparation necessary for the
artwork to be ready for display and installation.
Use the link below to fill in required content and upload files of your design.
An Artist Statement is required for every submission. The artist statement will become part of
artwork display and will be installed beside your mural.
